November Nintendo Direct: World premiere trailer for the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie debuts this morning

After several months of leaks and rumors, Nintendo finally confirmed the name of the next Mario film – The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – and today it will debut the very first trailer. While we got a quick snippet in Title Announcement trailer as part of the Mario 40th anniversary bonanza, the celebration continues this morning as Nintendo is set to host a dedicated Nintendo Direct just Mario’s next appearance on the silver screen.

Super Mario Galaxy Movie World Premiere

A new Nintendo Direct is landing this morning (November 12, 2025) dedciated to next year’s sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The livestream will go live during Nintendo’s usual time slot for these things at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET. There will be “no game information…included in this presentation,” but Nintendo is promising the world premiere trailer for the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Update: Here’s the first The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – Official Trailer

Join us on Wednesday, Nov 12, at 6am PT for the Nintendo Direct featuring the world premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie official trailer. Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation.

A leak, or rather just a mistake, from the folks at NBC Universal suggested the new movie would be called Super Mario World, but Nintendo is indeed taking us to the stars this year, just after re-releasing Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 for Switch and Switch 2.

As far as what to expect with today’s Nintendo Direct, the only thing we really know for sure is that we are getting the first proper trailer for the new Mario movie. We know the major voice actors from the first film are reprising their roles for the sequel, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Jack Black as Bowser, but a recent leak points at Bowser Jr. making an appearance this go around and we already know Yoshi will be along for the ride – Yoshi eggs were teased in the first film and that recent leak for Nintendo-branded Pillsbury box gave us a look at what appears to be the Yoshi design from the film:

Either way, it won’t be long now before we get our first good look at the new film.

Here’s a look at the initial Title Announcement trailer to tide you over until later today:
