Nintendo just officially announced the next Nintendo Direct, but it might not be the one you are waiting for one. Or…maybe it is because it will host the world premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie official trailer.
World premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
After loads of rumors, including one suggesting the next Super Mario Bros. Movie would be a Super Mario World-themed experience, Nintendo officially revealed the next Mario movie as part of this year’s Mario 40th anniversary celebration.
Just ahead of the massive September Nintendo Direct, the Galaxy theme for the upcoming sequel leaked across the interwebs and turned out to mostly be entirely true. Nintendo then took to the virtual stage the following day to officially reveal The Super Mario Galaxy Movie with a short but very sweet 0:50 second Official Title Announcement:
Fast-forward two months or so, and Nintendo has now taken to its Nintendo Today! app and its official X feed to officially announce the upcoming world premiere trailer:
On Wednesday, November 12, at the usual 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET slot the next Nintendo Direct will go live with the official world premiere for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie official trailer.
We are expecting some commentary, and likely even some on-screen time for Miyamoto-san, but Nintendo has issued a disclaimer here: “Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation.”
So no Switch game stuff here at all, but that’s not all that surprising and exactly what it did last time around with the first film.
