The worst kept secret in Switch 2 ports is now official. After the better part of a year’s worth of leaks, rumors, and hints straight from Ubisoft, an official trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2 just hit the official Nintendo YouTube channel.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Switch 2 is finally official
Nintendo is finally ready to get into the current-generation Animus after several months of speculation as Assassin’s Creed Shadows has now been officially confirmed for Switch 2.
Leaks and rumours date way back to even before the Switch 2 was announced. The game was then spotted on ratings agencies, was hinted at straight from the Ubisoft bosses, and more recently the official release date was leaked.
While the leaked release date was off by a few days, much to just about no one’s surprise Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be joining the Switch 2 holiday game release slate when it lands on Nintendo’s next-generation console come December 2, 2025.
The Switch 2 version will feature touch controls in the store, in the hideout, and on the world map as well as cross-progression for folks who might have a save file on another console.
There appeared to be some confusion on the price here, but the Switch 2 version will cost $59.99 and include all of the existing DLC (at some point).
Enter the breathtaking world of Feudal Japan! Unleash your inner Assassin as Naoe, a stealthy and cunning shinobi, and strike from the shadows. Or take command as Yasuke, a towering samurai, and dominate the battlefield.
Enjoy cross-progression and touchscreen support on all menus—including world map, store and hideout—whether you’re at home or on the go!
