All games confirmed for Nintendo Classics Switch 2 GameCube library

Let’s take an updated look at all of the games confirmed for the Switch 2 GameCube library. Nintendo debuted the Nintendo Classics GameCube collection the same day Switch 2 launched this past summer with three titles and has steadily been updating it alongside the rest of the Switch Online retro libraries.

Nintendo Classics Switch 2 GameCube

As we detailed previously, the Nintendo Classics GameCube library is only available for for Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers who also happen to have a Switch 2 to play it on – it is, unfortunately, not available on Switch. Nobody loves this, but it did add some value to Switch 2 and has been delivering some new-retro experiences to Nintendo’s next-gen platform ever since its debut back in June.

The Nintendo Switch GameCube library hit with three launch titles – A Zelda classic, futuristic racing action, and a 3D fighter. More specifically, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soulcalibur 2, and F-Zero GX, all three of which launched on day 1.

Since that time, and just as Nintendo promised, new games have been added to the Switch 2 GameCube lineup at a steady clip. Nintendo teased a series of upcoming games for the library beyond the launch titles as part of the GameCube launch trailer, but it wasn’t entirely obvious or not if it would actually be adding them in that order and how often it would do so – there is several other Nintendo Classics libraries to support after all. But, that is indeed exactly what it has done – the games it showed off, starting with Mario Strikers, have debuted in the order they appeared in the debut trailer:

After the launch titles, we first got Super Mario Strikers on July 3, almost exactly a month after release, and then Chibi-Robo! Launched on August 21, and Nintendo has just announced the next addition to the Switch 2 GameCube library: Luigi’s Mansion – it will release on October 30, one day before Halloween 2025.

Again these three titles appeared in order in the “More titles will be added” carousel from the trailer, which leads us to believe Pokemon Colosseum could be next.
