Update: Microsoft’s new Xbox ROG Ally and ROG Ally X PC gaming handhelds are now available to purchase. Best Buy currently has them in stock and shipping with prices starting at $599.99 shipped for the standard Xbox ROG Ally. More details in the original post below.
A little over a month after Xbox confirmed the release date of its upcoming gaming handhelds, the ROG Ally and ROG Ally X are now available for pre-order. That also puts an end to all the speculation around pricing. The ROG Ally is priced at $599.99 shipped, while the more powerful ROG Ally X comes in at $999.99 shipped. The standard ROG Ally, which comes in white, can be pre-ordered from Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. The beefier ROG Ally X, available in black, can be grabbed from Best Buy and Microsoft’s official store. Both of these models start shipping on October 16. Head below for more details.
Xbox ROG Ally and Ally X now up for pre-order
The new Xbox handhelds, as you probably already know, are made in collaboration with ASUS – which explains the ROG Ally and Ally X names – both running Windows with an Xbox launcher to deliver “an approachable Xbox experience.” The standard ROG Ally is geared towards casual gamers, and Xbox says it’s capable enough to handle the games without any issues. Enthusiasts and folks wanting the absolute best performance, however, might have to turn to the ROG Ally X model, which has a Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip and 24GB RAM. It costs $400 more than the standard Ally, which is already priced slightly higher than the Steam Deck OLED. The Xbox Ally X’s huge price tag reflects its premium specs, and it comes with things like 1TB of storage, 24GB RAM, and a Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor.

Players can pre-order their handhelds today in: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam — as well as 8 newly announced markets launching on October 16: Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Slovenia, South Africa, Thailand, and Ukraine.
