It looks like every official upcoming Pokémon project in the works at GameFreak has leaked. Sources who claimed to have datamined the developer’s roadmap from internal files have released details on a series of as of yet un-announced Pokémon titles, including the official Gen 10 Switch 2 game, and a series of other titles.
The information comes from Centro Leaks and is apparently courtesy of the same hacker responsible for last year’s major Pokémon leak. It looks like the information in question here is from internal planning documents and could very well be outdated at this point – some of this data comes from a 2020 “planning document.” So while this supposed development roadmap does look to be the real thing, it might not actually be an up to date one or something that accurately reflects what’s actually going on at GameFreak as of 2025 – we are talking about details from five years ago after all.
All of that said, the major part of this for most pocket monster fans is going to be the information on the main line Gen 10 game. The new Pokémon Legends Z-A is cool and all, and looks like it could be a blast, but it’s the Gen 10 details we want and we might have them, or at least a hint at what’s going on with the game behind closed doors at GameFreak.
According to the leaked information, the Gen 10 Pokémon Switch 2 game (we can only assume they/it will be be for Switch 2 of course) will be called Pokémon Wind and Waves. The leak also points at a 2025 release for the Gen 10 titles with add-on DLC content coming the following year.
Some additional details were spotted as part of the leaked details, including an MMO-style lobby and an MMO raid boss – the idea being that players could hangout and get quests in a central lobby of sorts and then take down raid bosses together. The leak also pointed at GameFreak exploring the possibility of allowing players to explore underwater.
Beyond the Gen 10 titles, another larger multi-player, perhaps even full-on MMO Pokémon game is in the works codenamed Project Seed – it is said to be a multi-region title aimed for a 2028 launch that will allow players to travel between major regions from past titles.
And finally, a new Legends set to bring players back to the Galar region is in the works for 2027.
Again, even if this data is real, it appears to be quite old at this point. But it might, at least, give us an idea of the time frame GameFreak is working on right now too.
