Ubisoft has now officially revealed what it is calling a “major” expansion to Assassin’s Creed Mirage known as Valley of Memory. It has already put up a short teaser trailer for the new DLC add-on, but the full reveal of the new free update on the now two-year old AC title is set to go live today, and very soon at that.
Ubisoft took to its official YouTube channel over this past weekend to officially reveal Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory – a “free major update.”
While Ubisoft took fans of the series to feudal Japan earlier this year in Assassin’s Creed Shadows – the latest mainline release in the series, today it is turning the clock back to 2023’s Mirage. Assassin’s Creed Mirage, set in 9th-century Baghdad, released almost two years ago to the day and now the story of Basim and the Hidden Ones is set to continue with an all new update to the game.
Today’s full reveal of the new Valley of Memory add-on comes on the heels of a pair of previously released free updates in the form of a sort permadeath addition, New Game+ mode, and some other tweaks to the Mirage experience. But the new Valley of Memory could be at least a little bit more of a story-like expansion – it’s hard to say at this point as the teaser trailer doesn’t give all too much to go on at this point, check it out below:
Ubisoft is set to serve the full reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory today at 9 a.m. PR/12 noon ET via its YouTube channel by the looks of it. Let’s hope the 2-year anniversary add-on is a substantial one. Reports quickly surfaced after its initial reveal that a Saudi-backed investment firm funded the DLC – it is apparently set in Saudia Arabia. The whole thing might end up just being a sponsored mess, but apparently Ubisoft has maintained full creative control here – we’ll see. I guess a Switch 2 announcement is out of the question today?
