Walmart announces giant weeklong Prime Day competitor sale: Start times, sneak peek at deals, more

Just after Amazon officially revealed this year’s massive fall Prime Day event, followed by details on of the “biggest” Target Circle Week sale yet, Walmart has now officially announced its own giant fall Prime Day competitor sale simply known as, Walmart Deals.

When is the Walmart Prime Day sale?

Update: This post has been updated with the official dates (the early information provided was slightly incorrect) – the sale actually ends on October 12. Additional details below.

Walmart’s competitor Prime Day sale will kick-off on October 7 and run through to October 12 for five six full days of deals. While Walmart+ members will get early access, much like last go around, the Walmart Deals event will other kick-off on the same day as Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale.

Paid Walmart+ members members will get a 5-hour head start on the deals starting on October 6 at 7 p.m. ET – that means the main event for everyone goes live at midnight ET on October 7.

  • Walmart Deals main event: Midnight ET on Oct. 7 through Oct. 12
  • Walmart Deals early access for Walmart+ members: Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. ET

Do you need a membership to shop the Walmart Deals sale?

No, anyone can ship the Walmart Prime Day competitor sale starting on October 7 at midnight ET. Paid membership holders will get early access the night before though. This is in stark contrast to the Prime member-only deals at Amazon, but the Target Circle Week event, requires nothing more than a FREE sign-up ahead of time.

What will be on sale during Walmart’s Prime Day competitor sale?

Much like year’s past, there will be “thousands of discounts across trending categories, including toys from beloved brands like Hot Wheels and LEGO, making holiday prep simple, stress-free, and budget-friendly.”

In our experience, you can expect LEGO sets to be one of the hot ticket items here, but you’ll find hundreds of deals on popular toy sets not to mention doorbuster-worthy pricing on already budget-friendly smart TVs and even some Apple and Samsung deals sprinkled in there – during the summer Prime event, Walmart had some of the best deals on big ticket Apple and Samsung gear that sold out very quickly.

Here are just some of the deals you can expect to go live for the event – Walmart has served up a bit of sneak peek as part of today’s announcement:

Toys

Fashion

Electronics

Home

Seasonal Decor

Food

Beauty
