All of the Switch 2 games releasing in September 2025

While we all eagerly await the rumored announcement of the September Nintendo Direct, we are also coming to realize this will be the first month without a single first-party Switch 2 release. Now clearly Hollow Knight: Silksong just broke the internet for a short time when it released last week, the eShop included, and that is frankly more than enough to keep most gamers busy all month long, but there are a host of other third-party games that have already and are still to land in September for Switch and Switch 2.

All of the Switch 2 games releasing in September

Rumor has it a Nintendo Direct showcase will land this month and it could get announced at any time now. Nintendo traditionally hosts a Direct showcase in September, and while things have worked out a bit different due to the launch of Switch 2 over the last 8 months or so, most folks expect to get the first proper Direct since Switch 2’s launch this month.

Considering September 2025 is completely void of proper first-party Switch 2 game releases, it would seem Nintendo will want to keep the hype rolling towards the holiday season and it’s starting to feel like a September Direct is not only looming but also necessary. We might even get a surprise release September date for a major tile as this Direct, but everything is still up in the air at this point.

All of that said, there are some notable third-party titles landing on Switch and Switch 2 this month. Down below we are running down all of our favorite Switch and Switch 2 release that have already launched and are about to in the coming weeks:

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition
