-6%/$1,080I recently tested an all-electric motorbike from Luckeep called the M5 Max. This commuter/off-road combo eBike delivers in all categories: style, range, performance, comfort, and utility. It’s hands down my favorite eBike to date, and you have to see how speedy this thing is in my video review below.

gadgetnewsonline’ take
For my latest review, I had the opportunity to test out the M5 Max from Luckeep. This full-suspension, fat-tire motorbike gave me stylish cafe racer vibes right out of the gate.
Best of all, it’s fast as hell.
As you’ll see in my video review below, I don’t have a lot of unboxing and assembly footage, because my package arrived completely thrashed and looked like it had popped open in transit and was taped back shut.
Sadly, there was some physical and cosmetic damage, so I had to put the assembly on hold for a bit, but the Luckeep team quickly sent me replacement parts and some repair materials to make it look as good as new (mostly).
At first glance, you’ll notice the M5 is styled like a motorbike through and through. From the front fender, handlebars, wheel wells, and suspension, this bike is a beauty. The M5 Max also features a large front headlight, which was easy to install.
What’s unique about this motorbike is that its frame has room to house two 20-amp-hour lithium-ion batteries, which can total 2,080 Wh of capacity, equating to massive, modular range. Those packs are capped by a pseudo gas tank, which can be unlocked to charge or remove the batteries.
The Luckeep M5 took about 5 or 6 hours to charge. Then, it was time to take it outside and learn the controls before zooming off at top speeds. This motorbike requires an NFC card to turn on, which was a first for me. It is a cool security feature as long as you remember to grab it. You press the power button on the left handlebar and tap the display (you’ll see it demonstrated in my video below)
The left buttons control five different pedal assist levels, offering a blistering top speed of almost 38 mph. There is also a left and right toggle that enables rear turn signals. The rear light also automatically illuminates any time to squeeze either brake.
On the right side of the handlebars, the M5 Max comes equipped with a Shimano 7 Speed shift Trigger and, of course, a motorcycle-style full twist throttle. Other features include a storage basket, hydraulic disc brakes, and a 1500-watt, 52-volt DC rear hub Motor.

After the delays in assembly, I was beyond ready to take the Luckeep M5 Max out on the road and open it up. My first impression is that this motorbike GOES.
As a commuter/off-road combo, its 20″ by 4″ puncture-resistant far tires, full 1,200 lb. dual rear shock absorbers, and inverted spring hydraulic front fork make for an ultra-smooth ride and are completely necessary for high speeds.
How high a speed, you ask? Luckeep says up to 37.5 mph. I easily got it up to 36.5 mph.
I found the turn blinkers handy when riding on roads around the neighborhood where cars were present and used every oppportunity of open road to twist to full throttle and feel all 120 newton meters of torque this eBike delivers.
The M5 Max was also designed for off-road riding, another testament to its build quality and versatility. I loved carving between smooth pavement and grassy fields without much bumping or rattling. The Luckeep M5 Max’s suspension is excellent.
The 3.5-inch display was easy to read, even in direct sunlight, and always let me know what pedal mode I was in, how much battery I had, and most importantly, how close to top speed I could get this thing.
Looking ahead, I think I’d like to purchase a second battery pack to complete the bike’s core and enhance its beefy motorbike aesthetic. The 160-mile total range with both packs would be a bonus—although that’s much farther than anywhere I’ve ever thought to go on a bike.
I want to point out that this bike is as sturdy as it is fast and stylish. Luckeep said it can support riders over seven feet tall and has a weight capacity up to 400 pounds.

Overall, the Luckeep M5 Max is hands down the fastest and most stylish eBike I’ve ever ridden. The red paint and tan wall tires on this motorbike frame are the exact aesthetic I would look for in a bike, like it was made specifically for me.
She’s a looker for sure, at least in my opinion.
It’s gotta be tough to beat the speed, comfort, utility, and range (especially with the second battery) the Luckeep M5 Max provides. Especially when you consider how reasonably priced it is compared to similar bikes in its class.
At over $1,100, the M5 Max is still not the most affordable bike out there, but you get tons of quality and utility for that price. To save you even more, you can use this link to purchase your own M5 Max or M5 Ultra (both batteries) from Luckeep.
