Lenovo has a history of showcasing wild concepts at IFA, and this year was no exception. In addition to confirming the pricing and availability details of its Legion Go 2 PC gaming handhelds, it showcased some cool new concepts this year, one of which is a laptop with a rotating screen to switch between portrait and landscape orientation. The ThinkBook VertiFlex concept, just like the Auto Twist AI PC the brand showcased last year, has a versatile display that you can use in different ways. Head below for more details.
Lenovo’s ThinkBook VertiFlex laptop concept
The ThinkBook VertiFlex may look like a standard 14-inch notebook at first, but give the display a nudge and it rotates 90 degrees. Suddenly, you’ve got a screen that’s far better suited for documents, coding, and endless vertical scrolling – whether it’s social media feeds or videos. Lenovo calls it one of the industry’s first notebooks with a 14-inch rotatable display, and it still manages to stay slim at just 17.9mm thick and 3lbs light. The only official render that appears to be available also reveals a decent port selection, including two USB-C ports and an HDMI output.

We don’t have details on the internal hardware of this laptop, but it doesn’t matter since it’s only a concept, not a finalized product. Like Lenovo’s Auto Twist AI PC concept, it may never even make it to market as a finished product. That said, a rotating vertical screen feels far more practical and useful than a twisting one, so you might want to keep an eye on Lenovo’s lineup.
If you’d rather pay more attention to the products that you can actually buy, Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 PC gaming handheld is now up for pre-order at Best Buy. It also unleashed a handful of tablets at IFA that are guaranteed to hit the shelves, unlike the ThinkBook VertiFlex concept.
