TCL’s 288Hz VRR QM8 mini-LED Google Smart TV now a massive $1,500 off the 2025 launch price

We have long been proponents of the value TCL’s smart TV lineup can bring to your home theater. It often delivers on what is, for most folks, the most important specs at much lower prices than the big three TV brands, and we are now tracking a return all-time low on the 2025 TCL 65-inch Class QM8K Series QD-Mini LED 4K UHD Google Smart TV – it launched at $2,500 this year and is now down at $997.99 shipped on Amazon. 

This model first landed on Amazon back in June at $2,500 and still regularly fetches that price at Best Buy and other retailers. While it has settled down to something closer to $1,800 since that time at Amazon, we are still looking at a giant price drop here – this is over $1,500 off the launch price and roughly $800 below the price it has been fetching as of late. 

We are also talking about a smart TV that, by and large, features specs that would cost you whole lot more than this from a brand like LG, Samsung, or Sony. 

Those include a native 144Hz refresh rate with variable refresh rates that can reach up to 288Hz alongside Apple’s AirPlay 2, “up to 3800 precisely controlled local dimming zones,” Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG as well as Bang & Olufsen audio. Auto Game Mode (ALLM) with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro is in place for gamers and is joined by built-in Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice command action, four “high-speed” HDMI connections.
