The official 2025 gamescom Opening Night Live is about to do just that to kick off the world’s biggest gaming convention of the season straight from Cologne, Germany. While the actual show floor isn’t open to the public until tomorrow, the festivities actually get going tonight with the massive 2-hour long livestream showcase set to be packed to the brim with game reveals and updated looks at some of the biggest upcoming titles.

As we reported previously, Geoff Keighley and the Game Awards/Summer Game Fest squad will be hosting this afternoon’s Opening Night Live ceremonies, which will play out more like a giant gaming showcase, and it all starts very soon at 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET.
As of the time of writing, it looks like the official broadcast will go live at 1 p.m. ET, but there is a pre-show scheduled for at least 30 minutes before the main event kicks off.
As you can see from the placeholder key art for today’s gamescom showcase, there are a ton of titles and more on the slate for Opening Night Live.
But just to temper expectations, all reports suggest Hollow Knight: Silksong will not be one of them – the developer now has an official special announcement video ready to go live this week on August 21. All of the details you need on that await right here
Now on to what we do know will be there. Just some of the games we know will be on display include Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (the release date for this one has already leaked in case you missed it) as well as Silent Hill f, World of Warcraft: Midnight, something on the anticipated Ghost of Yotei, The Outer Worlds 2, Ninja Gaiden 4, and Resident Evil Requiem – Keighley already teased an “exclusive new look” at this one and we are very much hoping for something at least a little bit more substantial on the gameplay side of things. You can also expect to see details on Fallout Season 2.

gamescom 2025 is a whole lot more than just opening Night Live though.
