I recently tested the EyeVac Air, a dual cleaning device that takes a home HEPA air purifier and adds a touchless vacuum feature for even easier cleaning options. Below are my thoughts and a full video review.

EyeVac

gadgetnewsonline’ take

The EyeVac Air is a 2-in-1 touchless cleaning tool featuring a true HEPA Air purifier and a built-in vacuum function. The company sent me the all-white version of the Air, but as I mentioned above, EyeVac also sells a white version with a silver front and a black version with the same silver panel.

The unboxing involved opening the box and removing all the plastic, so the setup is basically plug-and-play. As you will see from the images below and my review video, the entire Air device is manageable from a control panel on its top side, complete with LEDs so you know what configurations have been toggled, e.g., manual, auto, power on, etc.

The front panel offers access to the vacuum dust storage bin, which also houses an easy-to-remove and clean filter cartridge. Each side of the EyeVac features HEPA H-13 air filters, complete with active carbon composite, which can filter 99.7% of air pollutants.

A white device with a red label

Once I had everything unpacked, it was time to get the EyeVac Air situated in my home. I plugged it in between my family room and kitchen, where there is a lot of dog traffic (and a lot of rogue dog hair).

When I first got the device up and running, it was emitting a noticeable plastic smell for a bit, but it eventually dissipated. It’s probably because it’s a brand-new product being operated for the first time, so it’s no big deal; the odor didn’t last long.

As an air purifier, the EyeVac Air can cleanse a room of up to 600 square feet. At less than 23 decibels, you don’t even notice when it’s running. The vacuum function, on the other hand, is understandably louder, but that’s required to suck up all your home’s dust and dirt. It does so with ease thanks to the vacuum’s 1,000-watt motor.

As you’ll see in my video below, my Great Pyrenees Stella provided plenty of spare fur for me to sweep up into the EyeVac Air’s touchless vacuum. The vacuum activates when you sweep your dust pile beneath it, using an infrared sensor.  That means no need for bending over or annoying dustpans; sweep it in! This feature was super easy to use.

Do I dare say it made sweeping up (kinda) fun?

When the Air’s dust bin is full, a red light illuminates on top. The entire bin easily pops out, and its lid comes off for quick discard of everything that was sucked up. It’s also easy to see into and access if you vacuumed up something you didn’t mean to.

After disposal, the bin pops right back in and is ready to vacuum some more, all while the air purifier continues to run. In fact, in Auto mode, the EyeVac air runs a 4-hour purification cycle every time the vacuum is activated.

A close up of a device

Overall, the EyeVac Air is a handy dual-function device that helps keep your floors and surrounding air clean. I would have liked to see a little more range in the purification square footage, but it still pairs nicely with my other purifiers nearby.

The vacuum function, albeit loud, is super handy and makes sweeping so much easier without bending over with a dust pan. I’d especially recommend this product to pet owners who are constantly sweeping up hair like me.

The EyeVac Air can be purchased through Amazon here (be sure to look for that $20 coupon while it’s still available). Watch my full video review below to see the EyeVac in action (with a cameo from my dog Stella).
