Amazon’s first Prime Day event of the year goes live today. However, this year’s massive July shopping event is bigger and longer than ever, expanding the usual 48 hours of deals to 4 straight days of discounts from today right through until Friday July 11 (more specifically July 12 at 3 a.m. ET).
This year Amazon is promising more deals than ever alongside a new daily deal format that marks a first for the Amazon Prime Day festivities. Officially dubbed “Today’s Big Deals,” on top of the usual smattering of discounts across just about every product category, Amazon is offering a selection of new deals that will pop up each day of the sale and, presumably, only stick around for 24 hours. While it hasn’t given up many specifics on what these deals will be each day, it has said that these daily deal drops will feature “top brands like Samsung, Kiehl’s, and Levi’s.”
It is also worth pointing out that these daily deals might not be available for 24 hours. It seems like they will, but Amazon’s exact wording here states they will “remain available for a limited time, while supplies last.” Stay tuned and be ready.
This might very well be an indication that yesterday’s price is not today’s price, but only time will tell – this might just be a selection of deals that are simply only live for one day, as opposed to just dropping lower than the “standard” Prime Day price, but again, you’ll need to stay locked to gadgetnewsonline and our social feeds for up-to-the-minute details here.

Our expert team of deal hunters has been covering Amazon Prime Day events ever since its inception, not to mention well over a decade worth of Black Friday events. But more importantly, we cover deals all day everyday; we track the prices of thousands of items with both our internal tracking tools and our very human approach to ensuring not only you, but also ourselves save as much cash on everything from prime time pricey tech items to the smallest accessory and home essentials. Not everything is at the best price ever for Prime Day, or even at a price we recommend pulling the trigger on, but there’s a whole ton of it that is, and our entire staff will be working around the clock for the entire week to make sure you save as much cash as humanly possible while still landing the gear you need and want the most.
While there is a whole lot more to come, you’ll find some of the standout offers we have already uncovered down below:

When is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is actually nearly an entire work week this year, running from July 8 through to July 11.
What time does Amazon Prime Day start?
Amazon Prime Day starts at exactly midnight PT or 3 a.m. ET on July 8, 2025.
When does Prime Day end?
Prime Day ends on July 11 this year. More specifically, that means Prime Day shuts down for good on July 12 at midnight PT or 3 a.m. ET.
Does Amazon Prime Day actually have good deals?
The thing everyone seems to ask each year is whether or not Amazon Prime Day actually has good deals. Is it Amazon Prime Day just a giant scam to get folks to fork over a b inch of cash for the summer at Amazon instead of else? Are there actually good deals for Amazon Prime Day this year?
Well the short answer is yes. There are certainly some fantastic deals live for Prime Day this year, and frankly every year. That doesn’t mean that everything single item you were hoping to get a huge deal is going to have one, and there are some big ticket items that aren’t seeing particularly notable deals. But we here at gadgetnewsonline have extensively covered everything single Prime Day that has ever happened, as well as well over a decade worth of Black Friday events (closer to two decades at this point) and we can 100% confirm that there are indeed always some great deals to be had, and this year is shaping up to be a seriously big one.
You’ll most definitely want to keep a close eye on our home page and social feeds to uncover the best of them, and to find out which ones to ignore, but if you’re going to drop your hard earned cash down this month, you’ll want to do it during Prime Day.
Does Walmart have a Prime Day?
Yes, it is simply dubbed Walmart Deals this year and it goes live on July 7 a 7 p.m ET for Walmart+ members, and for everyone else at midnight ET on July 8.
You can get more details on the 2025 summer Walmart Deals sale right here.
Does Walmart have better deals than Prime Day?
Well, yes and no. Most of the big ticket items you can already find sold at Walmart and Amazon will almost certainly be at the same price at both retailers during Prime Day and in the Walmart Deals sale. Walmart does tend to drop prices $1 lower in some cases, like on Nintendo Switch games, but most gear with retailers sell will be at the same price. That said, for some products Amazon will have the deal and Walmart won’t, and there are items Walmart carries that Amazon doesn’t. It’s honestly hard to go wrong here either way – your best bet is to stick close to gadgetnewsonline through the summer deal bonanza and let our experts uncover the best possible prices.
Does Best Buy have a Prime Day sale?
Yes…it is called Black Friday in July and it is now live – it runs from July 7 at midnight ET right through July 13. we have put together all of the details on this for you in this feature post and you can already shop the deals right here.
What is Target’s Prime Day sale?
It’s called Circle Week and, much like we have already detailed regarding the Walmart and Best Buy sales, will run at the same time as Amazon’s Prime Day and for even longer. The Circle Week deals require nothing more than a FREE Target Circle membership, unlike the paid Prime member requirements at Amazon. It went live on July 6 at 3 a.m. ET and will run through until end of day on July 13. We have, of course, detailed this sale event for you right here and will continue to uncover the best prices drops from it throughout the week.
