PSA: Walmart is giving folks another chance to ‘reorder’ canceled Switch 2 pre-orders right now

Now less than 48 hours from the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, we have some potentially great news for folks who might have had their initial Walmart pre-order cancelled. It seems the retailer is now reversing these cancellations and giving folks a chance to secure their initial pre-order after all. 

Over the last couple weeks reports started to surface that some Switch 2 pre-orders from late April were getting cancelled, seemingly out of nowhere. Walmart seemed to be the primary culprit here.

But, just over the last 12 hours or so, reports have hit the net saying that Walmart is actually allowing some of the cancellations to go through after all.

Citing a “system error” and apologizing for the inconvenience, Walmart is now giving select accounts a chance to “reorder” their Switch 2 pre-order within 24 hours to secure it once again. It appears some of the speculation as to why these orders were cancelled in the first place might have been off-base, but either way it looks like not all is lost at this point. 

If you had your Walmart Switch 2 pre-order cancelled, be sure to go login to your account and check your email because you might be able to secure it after all. 

You might need to be patient here – it’s hard to say whether or not these error messages went out to all accounts at the same time or not, but be sure to pay attention as you certainly do not want to miss out on that 24-hour reorder window either. 

If you, unfortunately, are not one of the lucky ones here, or just never had a chance to secure a Switch 2 just yet, you will have another chance starting midnight ET on June 5 this week. Walmart and Best Buy have both already confirmed with gadgetnewsonline that more Switch 2 units will be available this week, alongside opportunities to score one at Target and GameStop, among other retailers:
