Here’s when Switch 2 will be back in-stock at Target (in-store and online), according to sources

Target is now expected to have more Switch 2 stock up for grabs in the coming weeks. Now just over 2 weeks away from the official June 5 launch date, a reliable source is calming that Target will indeed have units available soon for folks who didn’t manage to land a pre-order last month.

As we have reported previously, both Best Buy and GameStop have officially confirmed they will have more Switch 2 consoles in-stock for launch day. Walmart’s listings appear as though they might be coming up, but like Target, we are yet to get any official word from the other two major retailers expected to have more units for launch day.

As of right now, Best Buy has confirmed it will have units in stock for its midnight launch on June 5, much like GameStop, and now it looks as though Target will as well.

Jake Randall – a particularly reliable source when it comes to these sorts of things – says Target will have more units come launch day. These units include both the $449 base Switch 2 console and the $499 Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle.

Randall says the Target Switch 2 re-stock will be in-store only and that there will be no units available online, but that is only for launch day on June 5 – Randall also suggests there could be online units the following day on June 6.

The in-store event will be just that, with units available when the doors open locally during typical store hours (as opposed to the midnight fiasco Best Buy is hosting). It sounds like all Target stores will have somewhere between 40 and 60 units, equally split between the standard Switch 2 and the Mario Kart World bundle, but the numbers and split will vary from location to location.

Obviously none of this has been confirmed from Target, so we can’t say for sure if it is indeed the case, but Randall is a solid dude with an equally as solid track record in our experience.

If the June 6 re-stock online is indeed true, this would put Target and GameStop as the only two major retailers with units available online. It is, however, hard to imagine Best Buy and Walmart are going to let Target have all the fun come launch week – it could also signal an online restock coming to all major retailers on June 5 and potentially June 6 as well.

As per usual, we will be working around the clock to uncover live listings they second they are ready to go (or come back) at all major retailers in the U.S.
