All of the unannounced games expected to land on Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders have now likely come and gone for good, and that leaves us to think about the games we will be playing come June 5 for launch and beyond. And even if you didn’t get a chance to secure a console, all signs point to there being another run of units ready for launch day before the rest of the 2025 Switch 2 titles start to release. We have already detailed and updated our growing list of Switch 2 launch games and launch window titles, but let’s look at some of the other titles still expected to be landing on the next-generation of Nintendo hardware.

More games expected to come to Switch 2

While the first-party launch games do feel a touch underwhelming for me, it’s hard to deny how epic Mario Kart World is likely to be and Donkey Kong Bananza does look like it might be a blast. Beyond that, the actual new first-party Switch 2 exclusive launch/window game is rather thin for me.

I mean there’s two big ticket exclusives, a bunch of re-releases with some bonus content, a Kirby racing game, a multiplayer FromSoftware title that isn’t coming until next year, and some titles like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends Z-A that are releasing on both Switch 1 and Switch 2. Okay that’s not bad, but considering we haven’t really heard anything about the rumored “new 3D Mario game” everyone was talking about before pre-orders went live, it is all of the third-party games that are landing on Switch 2 that are really padding out the software lineup here for me.

Let’s take a look at some of the rumored and leaked games expected to be coming to Switch 2 that haven’t officially been confirmed just yet (for the most part) – there have even been hints that Grand Theft Auto VI could be coming Nintendo-side.

New 3D Mario Game

Retailer listings before Nintendo even hosted its April Switch 2 reveal specifically mentioned a new 3D Mario game. This game has not been mentioned at all by Nintendo in any concrete way.

It’s almost impossible to imagine Nintendo wouldn’t have some kind of proper Mario platformer in the works for its new console and, as we mentioned previously, it’s likely too soon for a brand new 2D game. Mario Odyssey came out the better part of a decade ago, and many expect the 3D platforming is on deck – let’s just hope that the extremely Mario Odyssey-like Donkey Kong Bananza isn’t it.

Mario + Rabbids- Sparks of Hope

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope

Nintendo teamed up with Ubisoft on the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope last generation, and rumor has it there might be a new Switch 2 bundle in the works to bring both games to Switch 2. We would much rather a third entry in the series, but “there was also some consideration of doing a Mario + Rabbids collection so it would have one and two in a single package,” according to leakers.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Assassin’s Creed Mirage

While we are talking Ubisoft, let’s talk Assassin’s Creed. Reliable leakers more or less guaranteed Assassin’s Creed Mirage would make it to Switch 2 and the PEGI rating for Assassin’s Creed Shadows was already spotted mentioning Switch 2. These two seem like a surefire bet to me, but only time will tell.

Microsoft Xbox games

Phil Spencer is already record saying the Xbox gang plans to support Switch 2, and some reliable leakers have already mentioned a slue of its first party games expected to launch on Switch 2 including Flight Simulator and Halo: Master Chief Collection.

But there have been several other titles from the Microsoft camp mentioned as rife for a port and patch over to Switch 2: Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Pentiment, and the beloved Ori titles (Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps).

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Before some major third party titles like Cyberpunk 2077 were confirmed for Switch 2, I was extremely skeptical the ground-up remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 would even run on Nintendo hardware. But now, the early rumors from some of the more reliable leakers out there that heard this would be coming to Switch 2 on the same day it releases everywhere else this summer seem a whole lot more plausible now.

Additional Ubisoft, Bethesda, and more games rumored to be coming to Switch 2:

  • The Division
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Starfield
  • Fallout 4
  • Diablo 4
  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
