Amazon has now dropped its latest Kindle Colorsoft reader back down to its lowest price ever for the first time. After seeing a new all-time low go live as part of its Big Spring Sale last month, you’ll now find the first color Kindle marked down to $224.99 shipped to land on par with the best price we have tracked to date. 

Regularly $280, this is a straight up 20% in savings and the lowest price we can find. The new Colorsoft has only ever gone on sale twice before today and only once as low as we are tracking here right now.

Now back to the Kindle Colorsoft itself. As the name suggests, this is Amazon’s very first Kindle reader with a color display. The pages of your books are still mostly in black and white, like they would be in real life, but you’ll find color imagery and you can browse through your library of titles with full color covers, alongside the ability to “add color highlights that you can easily search later.” 

It features an oxide backplane-equipped 7-inch display, “high contrast, fast page turns, an auto-adjusting front light, and weeks of battery life.”
