Nintendo officially raises the price on all Switch 2 accessories, here are the details…

Nintendo has now finally announced the official new pre-order date for Switch 2 in the U.S. – they go live in one week’s time! The other great news, Nintendo is not raising the price on either the base console at $449.99 or the Mario Kart World bundle at $499.99 – whoo! It has also announced that it is holding firm on the pricing for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza at $79.99 and $69.99, while also making some “pricing adjustments” on the official Switch 2 accessories – pricing is unfortunately going up on these folks. You can see the actual numbers below.

Nintendo raises the price on all Switch 2 accessories

Update: According to GameStop listings, the new Street Fighter and Zelda amiibo are also seeing a price hike by $10 – Street Fighter from $30 to $40 and Zelda characters from $20 to $30.

As you can see in the list below, Nintendo has raised the price $5 on the new Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, Joy-Con 2 Pair, Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip, Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set, Nintendo Switch 2 Camera, Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector, and the Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case – you can see the new MSRP on the left followed by the initially announced price on the right in the list below.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller – $84.99 (originally $80)
  • Joy-Con 2 Pair – $94.99 (originally $90)
  • Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip – $39.99  (originally $35)
  • Joy-Con 2 Strap – $13.99  (originally $13)
  • Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set – $24.99  (originally $20)
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Camera – $54.99 (originally $50)
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Set – $119.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector – $39.99 (originally $35)
  • Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case – $84.99 (originally $80)
  • Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter – $34.99
  • Samsung microSD Express Card – 256GB for Nintendo Switch 2 – $59.99

Okay well, the pricey lists on Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza haven’t moved – at least they didn’t go up?

We don’t love the idea that Nintendo is hiking up the lists on just about all of the official accessories here, but again, at least it’s only $5? I for one would much rather the price of the accessories go up than the consoles themselves so, considering the market we find ourselves/Trump has put us in. I’m going to go ahead and chalk this up as a win.

This could have been disastrous. Nintendo could have raised the price on the consoles by $50, or more even. And so while no one is happy about the accessories going up like this, I’d rather pay $5 more for my new Pro Controller than $50 or $80 more for the already pricey console.
