8Bitdo is expanding its officially licensed gear catalog with the introduction of a new Xbox Edition Ultimate controller. This one, just like the Xbox Edition Retro TKL and the Retro R8 mouse, features a transparent shell in Jade finish. It’s priced at $69.99 shipped and is now available to pre-order with deliveries starting from May 15, 2025. This version of 8Bitdo’s controller is essentially a reskin of its Ultimate model that’s been around on the market for a while now. As previously mentioned, it comes with a translucent shell similar to the iconic transparent green edition of the original Xbox console. The Xbox logo on the top lights up when the gamepad is powered up, and the see-through shell lets you see the internals which makes it stand out. Besides the custom Jade green shell, though, this is your standard Ultimate wireless controller, meaning it shares all the features with the existing models.
One of the highlights here is the included charging dock which keeps the controller charged up and ready to go. This model also comes with Hall effect joysticks and Hall effect impulse triggers for better durability, and it connects the system of your choice wirelessly via wired USB, a 2.4G dongle, or simply via Bluetooth. It’s worth noting that it connects to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One via wired connection only, so keep that in mind. Other highlights of the Xbox Edition Ultimate controller include a set of Pro back paddle buttons, a 3.5mm audio jack, upgraded bumpers and D-pad, and more.
