The next Nintendo Direct showcase goes live today folks. Yesterday Nintendo officially announced a new, second Direct set to broadcast to the Mushroom Kingdom this morning ahead of next week’s prime time show where it will fully reveal the next-generation Switch 2 – just six days and counting now. This morning’s show will be entirely focused on Switch games, delivering 30 straight minutes of upcoming titles and you can follow along with us below.
Nintendo Direct March 2025 – 30 minutes of upcoming Switch games
All eyes will be on Nintendo over the next week or more – as if they haven’t been already – as it ramps up to debut the scheduled Switch 2 Direct where we can assume we will get a complete rundown of the new console, its main feature set, pre-order details, the official price, and perhaps more importantly, a look and more information on the new exclusive launch games.
But with folks having already spied some hints at “Switch 2 Enhanced” games launching on the Switch this year already, the look at “upcoming games for Nintendo Switch” we are getting here today might very well be more than just some new footage for games on what will soon be the previous-generation Nintendo Switch console.

Clearly Nintendo is going to push its current and very much beloved console right through to the very end either way, despite this sort of crossover period between its final days and the launch of the Switch 2 we are in right now. But either way, a Direct is a Direct and it’s usually quite exciting either way – plus, with backwards compatibility, chances are we will be able to play these games on Switch 2 anyway, and that’s before you even consider the potential “Switch 2 Enhanced” situation.
Nintendo has already confirmed there will be “no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation,” but rather a focus on upcoming Switch games.

The new Virtual Game Card feature lets you easily manage your digital Nintendo Switch games, including lending to your Nintendo Account Family Group members! This new system update will be released in late April.
Introducing the virtual game card – a new feature for easily managing purchased digital games, playing games on two different systems, and even lending or borrowing games. Similar in concept to moving physical game cards between systems, virtual game cards make it possible to “eject” a purchased digital title from one Nintendo Switch system and “load” it onto another – whether it belongs to a member of the same Nintendo Account family group, or a second system tied to your account. This optional feature allows you to view virtual game cards or eject them from your system. The digital game can also be lent to a Nintendo Account family group member’s system via local wireless connection. Games that you lend can then be played on a Nintendo Account family group member’s system for two weeks, after which the game will be automatically returned to you. This feature will be available on Nintendo Switch starting late April via a hardware system update. Additionally, virtual game cards will also work with Nintendo Switch 2 systems at launch.
