Update 3/28: Internal documents from a major US retailer has purportedly just leaked official Switch 2 pre-order date that differs from the date mentioned below.
Update: Best Buy has removed the announcement with the purported leak…there are also reports sourced from other retailers suggesting this date was mentioned in error.
Heads up folks, Best Buy might have just leaked the official pre-order date for Nintendo Switch 2! An official Best Buy Canada announcement, that will likely get taken down at any minute, just specifically stated that pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 will officially go live on April 2.

Previous rumors and leaks suggested we could see Nintendo Switch pre-orders go live on April 2, the same day as the scheduled Switch 2 Direct presentation, but nothing had been confirmed….until today.
While there is a chance this Best Buy Canada announcement page could be mistaken, or just wrong, or a terribly disappointing error, it might have just revealed the official Switch 2 pre-order date and Nintendo is not going to be happy about it. We all very much expected to have to wait until April 2 to get the actual pre-order kick off date – Nintendo could have released it today as a surprise, but not likely – and now it looks like Best Buy just popped the Question Block way ahead of schedule.

Nintendo said today’s Direct showcase would have “no updates on Switch 2,” but did Best Buy just out Nintendo’s surprise announcement for today? Probably not, but maybe.
For those wondering, the chances of Switch 2 going up for preorder in Canada before the U.S. is 0%…if this is indeed the official preorder date you can very much expect Switch 2 pre-sales to go live in the U.S. at the same time!
The announcement page also seemingly confirms a few other features we suspected on Switch 2 as well, including “magnetically connected Joy-Con controllers.”
