Stacking up to 2,017 pieces, LEGO’s Icons 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire set will certainly find a prominent place amongst your Middle Earth displays, bringing all the wild joy of the Hobbit’s celebrations in Bag End into a sizeable and robust kit. It has been scheduled for an exclusive release through your local store or online for LEGO Insiders on April 2, 2025, while its general release will come a few days later on April 5, 2025 – all at $269.99 shipped. There’s even a consolation in the form of the 40761 The Lord of the Rings: Sméagol & Déagol GWP that you’ll get when purchasing the 10354 The Shire between April 2 through 8, 2025 (valued at $40).
This new set is coming in as a much larger build than the now-retired 2012 79003 An Unexpected Gathering, this time based on The Fellowship of the Ring, including all your favorite opening moments from Bilbo’s birthday party. There’s Bilbo’s farewell speech, which includes making him vanish at the turn of a dial, as well as the dragon-firework scene with interchangeable heads for Merry and Pippin after nearly blowing themselves up, and even transforming a letter into the one ring within the fireplace. You’ll also be getting nine minifigures, with Bilbo Baggins, Frodo, Mrs. Proudfoot, Farmer Proudfoot, Merry, Pippin, Rosie, Samwise, and Gandalf the Grey.
