Presumably offering gamers another official location to lineup at midnight for a chance to be the first to score the new Switch 2 console, the new location is set open its doors for the first time on May 15 in San Francisco’s iconic Union Square. Nintendo officially announces grand opening of new official San Francisco store
Nintendo issued an official press release this morning to inform everyone of its brand new official storefront. The San Francisco opening marks the second official location here in the US alongside the beloved New York store. The new San Francisco location will reside in Union Square at 331 Powell Street.
As expected, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO “is set to bring smiles to guests of all ages and visitors from near and far. In addition to game systems and games, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO will offer a unique shopping experience filled with Nintendo’s characters, worlds and exclusive products including accessories, apparel, home goods and souvenirs available only at this location.”

Doors open on May 15 and one would think Nintendo would have the storefront ready to go in-time for the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, which could push the actual release date of the new console into the summer. Or will it? Perhaps Nintendo is timing the launch of the console with the new storefront and Switch 2 release sooner than most industry analysts and former employees have previously suggested it would.
