We’re well into the swing of Mario Day 2025, also known as MAR10, with LEGO’s promotions having been running since last week (and which ends tomorrow, March 11) – giving you 2x points on Super Mario building sets, as well as a 30702 Mario Kart – Toad (Pit Crew) GWP along with purchases of $40 or more. While folks over the weekend might not be surprised to have found clocks jumping forward, the LEGO group is surprising us with a new highly detailed set, 72037 Mario Kart: Mario & Standard Kart, which is even being unveiled while open for preorder.
LEGO’s upcoming 72037 Mario Kart: Mario & Standard Kart set provides fans with a detailed brick-built rendering of the Italian plumber in his traditional, iconic standard kart. Taking a step away from the interactive figure or the 16-bit rendition, this new model translates Mario’s 3D look quite well, giving fans of the franchise quite the treat here. Already open for preorder at a reasonable $169.99 price tag, this new kit will officially release on May 15, 2025.
Stacking up to 1,972 pieces, after you’ve completed the build, this display-worthy set stands 8.5 inches high, 12.5 inches long, and 7.5 inches wide. It’s primed for displays, as its posable head and arms compliment the tilt the stand offers to provide dynamic viewing angles that make Mario appear in mid-drift. It’s quite an impressive build from the LEGO Group, which went above and beyond to give us such a hyper-accurate depiction, sporting some new elements, like the mustache. We even got a fun introduction video from LEGO:
