The brand-new iPad (A16), the M3 iPad Air, and the M4 MacBook Air were officially unleashed last week with pre-orders set to begin delivering on March 12. While we have already detailed some major savings opportunities on all three, Amazon has now dropped the price on just about all of the new iPad (A16) configurations – last week we only featured a limited number of colors and storage options on sale. The details await below.
As we detailed previously, if you have a previous-gen iPad 10, or really any other older iPad to trade-in against the new A16, you will get a better prices than the Amazon deals that are now up for grabs (providing it is in good condition of course). And by better prices, we mean much better prices. You can flip the iPad 10th Generation 64GB model and score $175 off the base 128GB model A16 – that’s 50% off folks. All of the details you need on this are waiting right here.
That said, folks who are looking to score Apple’s new affordable iPad A16 and don’t have a piece of kit to flip, Amazon has slashed the prices down slightly on all models outside of the Wi-Fi + Cell variants to entice folks to pre-order them there. And if you’re going to pre-order one without a trade-in, you might as well save some cash. Here’s how the deals shake out:
- iPad (A16) 128GB $329 (Reg. $349)
- iPad (A16) 256GB $429 (Reg. $449)
- iPad (A16) 512GB $614 (Reg. $649)
The deals above include all three storage tiers and on all four colors of each now.
Our short-form takeaway on the new iPad (A16) is this: If you’re looking for a powerful iPad workstation, don’t get it. If you want Apple Intelligence, don’t bother because it doesn’t support it. But if you’re just looking for a casual iPad experience, perhaps for some couch browsing and video chatting, something for the kids or family, then there’s some serious value on the most affordable current-generation iPad. It sports a slightly larger 11-inch display this time around, alongside double the storage without the price going up, and a 30% faster chip. A complete rundown on the new iPad (A16) awaits at 9to5Mac.
