Update 3/24: Nintendo has unleashed a new video and some additional imagery of the Nintendo x JetBlue Cloudtop Cruiser…you’ll find them below.

Update: Nintendo has now officially served up some details on the Mario plane as part of its 2025 Mario Day announcement:

JetBlue and Nintendo have partnered on a custom livery featuring Mario and friends! The Airbus A320 Restyled aircraft named “Cloudtop Cruiser” features a bright, colorful design featuring Mario, Princess Peach, Luigi, Bowser, Donkey Kong and Yoshi. Inside the aircraft, the welcome screens of the plane’s seatback entertainment touchscreens will also include Mario and some of his Mushroom Kingdom pals. JetBlue customers and Nintendo fans can now spot the Cloudtop Cruiser flying throughout JetBlue’s network!

Nintendo just took to its official X account to reveal some official images of the new JetBlue x Nintendo Cloudtop Cruiser – it is now, not arguably, officially the world’s greatest plane. And this one doesn’t just land at Sunshine Airport, Nintendo says this ”Mario & Friends-themed plane might be landing on a runway near you.” Get a closer look below.

The JetBlue x Nintendo Cloudtop Cruiser features a complete Super Mario-themed nose to tail paint job with a sort of sky blue body and red underbelly lined with gold striping and super stars throughout. “Super Mario” lettering joins portraits of Mario and friends across the body too – Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Donley Long, and Bowser.

The @JetBlue x Nintendo Cloudtop Cruiser is ready for takeoff! Keep your eyes on the sky, because this Mario & Friends-themed plane might be landing on a runway near you.

We aren’t entirely sure what this is as of yet, outside of some sweet marketing ahead of the Switch 2 launch – there is no mention of Nintendo’s next-generation console here as far as we can see.

There are some random mentions in the far reaches of the interwebs of this project (or at least it would appear that way) that mention jetBlue X Nintendo projects, some of which state that they bring Mario games onto jetBlue flights, allowing passengers to access Mario Kart and Super Mario World on TV screens, using their smartphones as controllers. Although we are not sure if there’s any direct connection between those details and the post Nintendo just let fly.

This not however, the first collab between Nintendo and jetBlue, as both companies teamed up in 2024 for pop-ups in select airports:

On April 7, families and fans were given the chance to play some of the latest Nintendo Switch games, hang out in the pop-up, recharge their devices and even get a photo with Mario himself!

Either way, get a closer look at the official images below:
