Ready your swords Nightfarers, we now know the official release date for the highly-anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign expansion. Publisher Bandai Namco and developer From Software have now unleashed the release details on the upcoming expansion to one of 2022’s best games, Elden Ring, alongside a new trailer you can scope out below.
Elden Ring: Nightreign releases May 30
Elden Ring, and most FromSoftware games for that matter, is a bit of an acquired taste – they are not for the meek and mild gamer, they are about as wonderfully mysterious as they are tough as nails. But those who know, know, and Elden Ring was an absolute triumph by just about all accounts otherwise.
So when the Elden Ring: Nightreign World Premiere Trailer debuted at the 2024 Game Awards Tarnished everywhere were stoked to jump back into the dark fantasy world of The Lands Between (or rather some parallel world thereof it would appear).
And courtesy of an official post over on the PlayStation Blog, we know now Elden Ring: Nightreign will officially launch on May 30.

Elden Ring Nightreign is an all-new standalone adventure by FromSoftware that thrusts players into co-op multiplayer PvE combat to take on the creeping night and the dangers within. By contrast, Elden Ring Nightreign’s focus on three-player co-op survival action means you must always be alert and aware of your squad’s movements, regardless of whether you’re working together or strike out to explore separately.
This is because of Nightreign’s Night’s Tide mechanic, which steadily contracts your explorable play area over time, with every session concluding with you coming face to face with a powerful boss. It is crucial then to strengthen and upgrade your characters and party by nightfall to prepare for the boss fight, so you’ll need to get used to the fast-paced gameplay and split-second decision-making.

Why Sony didn’t hold this announcement off until tonight’s State of Play showcase, I’m not entirely sure, but at least there will be more room for other reveals – the show kicks off at 5 p.m. ET
