Samsung unveiled its The Frame Pro smart TV at CES earlier this month, and we are still seeing some solid price drops on the standard models, but an even more affordable solution in the frame-style TV space comes via the Hisense CanvasTV lineup. And today, over at Amazon, we are tracking a solid price drop on the 55-inch model QLED 4K S7N Series Dolby Vision HDR Smart Google CanvasTV at $699.99 shipped. This model debuted last spring with a $1,000 MSRP and is now $300 less. While it has been bouncing between the $800 and $1,000 range over the last few months, today’s deal comes within a couple bucks of the Black Friday Amazon low.
While the Samsung site is focused on the new Galaxy S25, S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra flagship smartphones right now, there is still up to $1,300 in savings on its still current-generation The Frame smart TVs. That said, brands like Hisense have entered the frame-style space to offer up a more affordable alternative with a similar feature set and options running on the Google TV platform – a current-gen 55-inch The Frame from Samsung will run you $900 on sale right now.
While Hisense might not deliver some of the extra bells and whistles on the higher-end The Frame models, the CanvasTV does land with many of the most important features while still providing that picture frame-style aesthetic. Alongside the onboard Art Mode for displaying beautiful imagery in between shows and gaming, perhaps the most important features include the 144Hz refresh rate this model is listed with alongside some gaming features like Variable Refresh Rate tech, AMD FreeSync Premium, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Low Latency MEMC that “virtually eliminate screen tearing and controller input lag.”
You’ll also find support for Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa (the latter of which are built-in) as well as Apple AirPlay casting, and pair of HDMI 2.1 inputs.
