We have already seen some notable deals hit on the higher-end and particularly pricey M4 Pro configurations since the end-of-year holiday price drops last year, but today marks your first chance in 2025 to land all-time low pricing on the most affordable new M4 MacBook Pro. Amazon is now serving up an on-page coupon that knocks the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and the 512GB SSD down to $1,399 shipped in both Space Black and Silver – that’s $200 off the regular $1,599 list price at Apple and elsewhere.
Regularly $1,599, this is the base model M4 MacBook Pro, now with 16GB of RAM, at $200 off the list price. We saw this one drop to the $1,399 low a couple times during Black Friday and right before Christmas 2024, but this is the first time since then we have seen the full $200 in savings on the most affordable new M4 machine from Apple.
For comparison’s sake, this same configuration is still up at the full $1,599 via Best Buy – with an additional $80 off for paid Plus and Total members, just in case you have some store credit that might yield a lower price.
Apple unleashed its new M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max machines back in October with enhanced RAM configurations across the lineup. That means, as detailed above, the base model and most affordable pro-grade laptop in Apple’s lineup now ships with 16GB RAM – what was once, for many, an underpowered and overpriced configuration in the lineup during the M3 era is now a much more enticing proposition. That, in combination with the fact that you can score the M4 variant in the Space Black colorway now, as opposed to the the Space Gray, is going to make it tough for some folks to warrant the significant extra spend on the M4 Pro machines.
Just keep in mind that we are also still tracking a deal on this same machine with the 1TB SSD upgrade at $1,599 (also $200 off), but that’s only a worthwhile investment if you seriously value the boosted storage space – with today’s featured deal on the base model at the ready you’re literally paying $200 for 512GB of extra SSD action.
