Satechi launches first full-size mechanical backlit keyboard at CES 2025, connects to Mac, iPad, iPhone, and more at the same time

We have already featured Satechi’s new M4 Mac mini Stand & Hub as well as its new metal travel charger, but the brand isn’t quite finished with its CES reveals just yet. Today it is officially unveiling its SM3 Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard – its very first full-size mechanical model.

Satechi launches first full-size mechanical backlit keyboard

Satechi might very well be best known for its charging gear – it does in fact make one of my personal favorite 3-in-1 MagSafe charging stands – as well as its new Find My Passport holder (here’s our hands-on review of that), but it also makes some wonderful keyboards as well.

While I personally prefer its Slim X3 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard, those with a penchant for a more clicky mechanical experience will certainly want to scope out the new SM3.

Piggybacking of the more compact SM1 Slim model it debuted at last year’s CES showcase, the new SM3 delivers on all of the same features and then some this year, just in a full-size footprint.

The new model features a similar setup as the more compact model with a rechargeable battery, low-profile brown switches, the ability to connect with four-devices at a time, and 14 different backlight patterns. But this time it is trading out the 75% layout for a full 108-key setup with the usual numeric keypad on the righthand side – the “full numeric keypad makes it the perfect choice for business and office professionals, programmers, and all who require extensive numerical input.”

Available in dark and light colorways, the new SM3 features an an adjustable white backlight with 14 different patterns with three brightness levels as well as four LED speeds.

It can connect to your systems via dual Bluetooth 5.0 channels, a 2.4 GHz USB receiver, and/or a traditional wired connection with the ability to “instantly” switch between each of them. It is compatible with “macOS, iPadOS, iOS, Google Chrome OS, and Windows OS and comes equipped with specific OS keys (O and P) that allow users to quickly and conveniently transition between platforms.”

The onboard 2500mAh battery is recharged via a USB-C port that pulls double duty for both charging and wired mode while adjustable feet allow “users to tailor the angle of the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard for ultimate comfort and to reduce strain on the wrists and hands.”

The new Satechi SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard is now available for purchase at $119.99 shipped, or $20 more than its 75% counterpart from last year.
