ecobee’s HomeKit Secure Video SmartCamera now back down at $80 Black Friday price

Amazon is giving folks one more chance to land the the ecobee SmartCamera with HomeKit Secure Video support down at $79.99 shipped ahead of the holidays. This is a regularly $100 smart camera for indoor use with a number of interesting features up its sleeve at 20% off the going rate. We have seen this one down as low as $70 in the past, but today’s deal lands on par with this year’s Black Friday and fall Prime Day deals we featured.

While the brand’s (also discounted) ecobee Smart Video Doorbell Camera doesn’t include the HomeKit Secure Video support, the ecobee SmartCamera does. You’ll just need the HomeKit hub or the device running iOS 13.2 or later you likely already have to make it happen – a complete rundown of how to set it all up is waiting right here

Featuring the clean design the brand is known for, the SmartCamera delivers 1080p footage around the clock to your smart device of choice with a 180-degree field of view and some notable privacy features – you can set the camera to shut off automatically when friends and family members arrive, for example, by way of “on-device processing and end-to-end encryption.”

This also joins the smoke alarm action ecobee has baked into the design here – “get an alert on your phone if SmartCamera detects sound from your smoke alarm.”
