It doesn’t get a whole lot better than buying a lucky someone a brand new current-gen iPad for the holidays. But that can also be an extremely pricey endeavor. Having said that, Amazon still has the current iPad 10th Gen listed as arriving before Christmas right now down at $279 shipped. That’s not exactly a cheap gift, but we are also talking about a current-generation iPad for well under $300 here. This price is also available via Best Buy.
This model carried a regular price from Apple at $449 until May of this year when the release of the new M2 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro ushered in a permanent price drop on the iPad 10th Gen. Now carrying a sticker price at $349, you can land one at Amazon right now at $70 less than that, or $170 under the price Apple charged back in May of this year.
Needless to say, whether or not you actually score it in time for Christmas is entirely up to how fast you pull the trigger here. Select colorways have already slipped, and they all might at any time now…you have been warned.
Having said that, I have been known to pull out one more gift a day or two later “on purpose,” right when my special someone thinks the festivities are over for another year. Surprise!
The iPad 10th Gen is by no means the latest and greatest, nor is it the most powerful or future-proof in the lineup. But it is still in the lineup and is hundreds of dollars less expensive than any other model you’ll find at the Apple Store. It is also more than capable of delivering a sweet browsing, video-watching, and video-chatting experience, despite the relatively digestible price point here.
