Rad Power has switched up its e-bike sale alongside our transition into a new month through November 6, with two e-bikes getting some cash savings and two others getting free accessory promotions. The brand’s RadRover 6 Plus Step-Thru e-bike is back down at $1,399 shipped once again, giving folks another shot at its usual discounted rate from the full $1,599 price tag. This model goes in and out of sales, often falling to $1,399 or getting $100 struck off while benefitting from an accessory deal, though we did see it fall lower once this year to $1,299 in September. You can land it for your commute at the second-lowest price we have tracked and save yourself $200 in the process.
I got to hop aboard one of these back in September while visiting family, as they got ahold of a few different models back at the beginning of the year and it has only cemented Rad Power as one of the best brands on the market for the affordable prices. The 750W motor and 672Wh battery provided plenty of power to cruise around the swamp-flanked streets of their town, letting me cruise up to 20 MPH for up to 45 miles on one full battery charge. The five pedal assist levels also provide ample support, with little lag time between my pedaling and the system kicking in.
As I mentioned in my Travel Kit coverage, this model makes a great well-rounded companion for street riding on top of handling off-road detours, with the Kenda Juggernaut puncture-resistant tires smoothing out what could have been a far more jostling experience. It also sports a 7-speed Shimano derailleur, fenders, water-resistant connectors, and a reliable LCD display too.
