Next-generation Xbox Wireless Headset debuts today

The all-new, next generation Xbox Wireless Headset is debuting today with some new enhancements over the previous-generation version starting with Dolby Atmos at no additional cost. Xbox says the updated headset delivers “immersive, spatial audio that brings games to life in vivid detail.”

Sound shapes the way we experience games, adding dimension and depth to every action, interaction, and atmosphere. From the epic swell of a battle soundtrack to the quiet tension of a stealth mission, audio plays a crucial role in creating unforgettable gaming moments.

On top of that, we are getting “improved battery life” amounting to somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 hours of playtime per charge, alongside an upgraded microphone (extended mic boom included) with auto-mute and voice isolation “for crystal-clear communication.” There are on-ear controls to adjust your game/chat balance while the Xbox Accessories App offers “deeper customization” preferences.

Xbox says the auto-mute and voice isolation ensure “your voice comes through loud and clear while minimizing background noise.”

The sleek, all-black design also packs in Bluetooth 5.3 for PC and mobile devices, allowing “you to seamlessly switch between platforms without the need for dongles or extra setups,” joined by built-in support for low-latency Qualcomm S5 Gen 2 technology, Dolby Atmos, Windows Sonic, and DTS Headphone:X.
