Apple’s M2 MacBook Air still at $749 Amazon low today (Orig. $1,099)

Reg. $999 $749

Amazon is stepping in today with a particularly notable deal on Apple’s M2 MacBook Air starting at $749 shipped. This one first landed on Amazon at $1,099 but these days carries a regular price at $999 to deliver at least $150 in savings. While we did see it bounce down to $799 a number of times this past summer leading into the back to school deals, it is now at one of the lowest prices we have ever tracked in new condition. You’ll also find this deal available at Best Buy today.

It certainly isn’t the newer M3 MacBook Air and we are expecting new M4 MacBook Pros to be unveiled later this month, but you won’t be getting one of those anywhere near the $749 we are seeing here today. The most affordable M3 MacBook Air is selling for $899 shipped right now, down from the regular $1,099 – a machine that has never sold for less than $849 at Amazon.

Needless to say, this is not the latest and greatest, but I do think it is still a capable machine for casual users, school work, web browsing – basically all but the most RAM intensive of applications. With the M2 Apple silicon, it is Apple Intelligence-ready and will receive plenty of macOS updates well into the future still.

The configuration we are featuring here today comes with a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina Display, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB internal SSD. The backlit keyboard joins the 1080p FaceTime camera, up to 18 hours of battery life, the wonderful MagSafe charging port, two Thunderbolt jacks, and headphone port.

M2 MacBook Air features:

Supercharged by the next-generation M2 chip, the redesigned MacBook Air combines incredible performance and up to 18 hours of battery life into its strikingly thin aluminum enclosure. Apple Intelligence helps you write, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly. It draws on your personal context while setting brand-new standard for privacy in AI. Coming in beta this fall.
