Sneak an early look at the new LEGO Star Wars 75398 C-3PO buildable figure set

First look C-3PO

It’s been a week of LEGO Star Wars deals and reveals here, and just over a week after we shared the first looks at the upcoming Dark Falcon and TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-Up sets, we’re back with another first look at the next building set in the lineup. Courtesy of a LEGO certified Singaporean Store, we’re getting an early look at the new LEGO 75398 C-3PO figure building set that is slated to release on August 1, 2024.

This new building set gives you a wonderful (and by the looks of it, larger) buildable figure of everyone’s favorite protocol droid. This is quite a good likeness too, and seems to stand on the tall side when next to the included display plaque, LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary brick, and C-3PO minifigure.

Sporting the original (and often forgotten) dual-moulded silver leg first seen in A New Hope, that particular design detail has only really been seen in the 75341 UCS Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder set, so its a refreshing surprise to see it return to the scene – and with the minifigure mirroring the decision.

There is some beautiful curves and contours in the brick work here, and from the looks of the picture, it seems on the larger-leaning end of the charts this time around. It’s a tricky thing to judge from one picture, though the plaque, brick, and minifigure give a loose sense of scale (though I am not the best at guessing proportions in all fairness).

There’s been a few other sets that have been used recently in comparing and estimating possible sizes for this C-3PO, with most landing somewhere between the 75371 Chewbacca set, which stands at over 18 inches tall – and two slightly differing R2-D2 sets: either the 75379 R2-D2 set (over 9 inches tall) or the 75308 R2-D2 set (13 inches tall).

We will update you with more information and pictures as it becomes available to us.
