The summer Prime Day event is now officially set for July 16 and 17, but as gadgetnewsonline readers already know, the deals are now starting on Amazon gear and next up is Ring. We already featured some Blink smart home gear with deep price drops as well as some in-house Amazon kids tablets, but we are also now tracking up to 50% off Ring smart home gear starting with the Ring Video Doorbell dow at $49.99 shipped. This is a regularly $100 porch pirate front door monitoring system and it’s now seeing a straight up 50% price drop, just in time to keep an eye on your upcoming Prime Day deliveries. This deal lands at $10 under our previous mention from earlier this month and $5 under the best price we have tracked this year.

Available in both silver and Venetian Bronze colorways, you’re looking at the latest-generation base model wireless video doorbell solution from Amazon’s in-house Ring brand. It delivers, as you would expect, 1080p feeds of what’s happening on your front porch, be it the delivery person, folks banging on the front door, or otherwise. It allows you to “see, hear, and speak to anyone from your phone, tablet, or PC” alongside “improved motion detection, privacy zones and audio privacy, and crisper night vision.”

The built-in rechargeable battery makes for a more clean and simple installation – no real electrical knowledge needed at all. You can opt for a Ring subscription protect plan to “record all your videos, review what you missed for up to 180 days, and share videos and photos,” but this system does function without one.

More early Prime Day Ring smart home deals:

The early Prime Day deals are live and well. If year’s past are any indication, the prices we are seeing now on the in-house Amazon gear will indeed be this year’s Prime Day deals. Although we can’t know for sure, Amazon likes to get its tech deals up nice and early for folks so they don’t get buried amongst the hundreds of other brands going on sale in just over 2 week’s time.

Here’s a running list of the now live early Prime Day 2024 offers:

Ring Video Doorbell features:

  • 1080p HD video doorbell with enhanced features that let you see, hear, and speak to anyone from your phone, tablet, or PC.
  • An update from the original Ring Video Doorbell, enjoy improved motion detection, privacy zones and audio privacy, and crisper night vision.
  • Receive mobile notifications when anyone presses your doorbell or triggers your built-in motion sensors.
  • Powered by the built-in rechargeable battery or connects to existing doorbell wires for constant power.
  • Easily setup by connecting your Ring Video Doorbell to wifi through the Ring app and mounting with the included tools.
