We have featured Aqara’s smart home gear and smart locks around here for some time – we use them ourselves at home. They tend to offer great value for the price alongside Apple Home integration, and its latest Apple Home Key model is now seeing one of its first price drops. The official Aqara Amazon storefront is now offering its Smart Lock U50 down at $119.99 shipped. Be sure to clip the on-page coupon. This is a regularly $150 solution that is now delivering one of its first price drops to mark a return to the lowest price we have seen on Amazon.
As detailed in our launch coverage at 9to5Mac, the new Aqara Smart Lock U50 debuted back in late March as entry-level and more affordable solution complete with Apple Home Key. It is, in fact, one of the least expensive options from a brand we feature with Apple’s built-in digital key support.
The smart deadbolt lock can open just by waving your Apple Watch or iPhone in front of it, but you can also use the keypad, a traditional key in pinch, as well as leverage the built-in gyroscope for auto-lock action. Remotely configurable passwords (an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub is required for this part though) are also an option as well as one-time local passwords, and a temporary password for visitors.
And while it does require a Matter-compatible Aqara hub, this lock does work with Matter for integrations with third-party gear in the Google Home, Alexa, HomeKit, and SmartThings ecosystems.

The Smart Lock U50 offers multiple ways to unlock, including keypad unlocking, remotely configurable passwords via the Aqara Home app (An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub is required), one-time local passwords when no internet connection is available, and a temporary password for visitors. * The NFC card is not included and is sold separately.
