We previously had a chance to go hands-on with the first iteration of Journey’s 2023 Apple Find My wallet, but the brand just launched a new one. While both remain in the lineup, the latest edition of Journey’s MagSafe Find My card holder adds some extra storage into the mix for a slight up-charge and joins the passport-ready form-factor to complete the EDC LOC8 lineup. As per usual with Journey, the brand is also offering a notable launch deal on its latest release with code LAUNCH20 at checkout. Hit the jump or more details.
Journey adds a money clip to its MagSafe Apple Find My Wallet
We will mostly be keeping this one short and sweet, as it is very much a similar product to the one we already featured in detail as part of our Tested with gadgetnewsonline series – it’s all in the name here.
The new Journey LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet and Stand with Money Clip takes the same design approach as the original version and adds some additional storage by way of the underside money clip.
Now, I’m not not one to often carry cash these days, but I can certainly understand the argument for it. What if the card doesn’t work? Or what if it gets damaged while on-the-go? At least you have something to fall back on in a pinch.
Plus, money clips look cool and always have. I wouldn’t use one, but they look really cool and I’m jealous of you if you do. Just saying.
Features at a glance:
- Trackable with Apple Find My app.
- Inbuilt speaker sounds ringtone for instant wallet-finding in earshot.
- Holds five cards.
- Money clip holds quick cash and receipts.
- Adjustable stand allows for versatile viewing angles in portrait and landscape.
- Protective lining and film protects against demagnetisation of cards.
- RFID technology protects sensitive data stored on cards.
- Precise cut-outs allow for easy card access.
- Works with MagSafe compatible cases.
- Powerful magnets automatically align and secure the LOC8 Money Clip wallet with phone.
The new LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet features the same outer card slots joined by some more hidden carriers on the side of its kickstand fold – a feature I particularly appreciated when testing the orignal out – but you’ll also now find a typical money clip in there as well. So that’s roughly five cards and some folded up cash, plus a speaker for the Apple Find My action, and a small magnetic charger connection. Oh, and the kickstand functionality. That’s kind of a lot, but it is also (not) kind of costs a lot too.
This is a regularly $100 MagSafe Find My Wallet. That’s pricey despite the impressive feature set and stowing capacity if you ask me. But, you’ll have a hard time losing it, and we fortunately have a LAUNCH20 promo code to knock that down to $79.99 shipped.
