LG’s foldable OLED TV is coming to fruition for consumers in 2019

After what seemed to be a myth, LG has officially announced today that the “world’s first” rollable OLELD TV will be available to the general public later this year. This lust-worthy detail comes on the heels of LG revealing that AirPlay is also on the docket for its lineup in 2019. Officially dubbed the LG Signature OLED TV R, this gorgeous display arrives in a stunning aluminum base that sets the scene for a sleek 4K panel to emerge. More details below.

LG’s Signature OLED TV R delivers a futuristic approach to enjoying your favorite content. Thanks to what LG is calling Zero View, this display departs from the category of electronics and arguably becomes a piece of artwork. Its ability to roll-up completely into the aluminum base is sure to make this a hit with interior designers looking to avoid the classic plastic look that plagues most TVs.

A built-in 100W speaker with 4.2-channel audio is sure to deliver the boom. Let’s face it, you can’t imagine putting an external sound bar in front of this thing.

While pricing is not yet available, LG will initially ship its new rollable TV in a 65-inch size. But you can guess that more real estate is coming down the line. It will of course support LG’s in-house smart TV software along with today’s earlier announcement that AirPlay 2 is on the way as well. You can learn more about LG’s impending release in today’s press notes from CES 2019.
