Today at CES 2019 Kodak has detailed a new vintage-inspired Smile instant camera that is sure to be a hit with the throwback crowd. This camera sports a built-in Zink printer along with a pop-up viewfinder, making it perfect for sharing photos on-the-go. Even better? It’s Bluetooth-enabled for snapping photos remotely or printing images from your smartphone.
The Kodak Smile Instant Print features a sleek modern design that sports a built-in LCD display. Unlike those popular Polaroid cameras of old, this model fits in better with today’s modern devices. It also sports a 10MP camera, which is enough firepower for a Zink printer, but you wouldn’t want to use it on anything larger.
So why does Kodak continue to push these instant cameras when our iPhone and Android devices continue to get better each year? Well, in today’s Instagram world there’s more of a place than ever before to enjoy photography. Along with that, more folks are wanting printouts of their images. That’s what makes the Kodak Smile so compelling in 2019. Not only do you get the vintage vibes of a Polaroid, but users can also quickly print out Instagram images as well.
The Kodak Smile is expected to retail for $100 later this year, but that price has yet to be confirmed.
