While Apple deals, massive UHDTVs and clothing tend to dominate the Black Friday deal season, there are loads of deals for music producers too. Guitar Center Black Friday deals are always filled with the hottest new recording gear, instruments and everything you need to kick-off your podcast career. You’ll want to watch out for that distracting sitewide sale they usually offer and focus in on the early online deals to maximize your savings if last year is any indication. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Head below to make sure your prepared for this year’s biggest Mac/iOS music and audio production deals at Guitar Center.
When is Black Friday at Guitar Center?
Guitar Center Black Friday officially kicked-off right at the stroke of midnight on Friday last year. While the 2017 ad pointed at everything hitting on Friday, many of its best deals actually ended up starting both in-store and online right on Thanksgiving morning. Actual in-store hours varied depending on the location, but it didn’t specifically showcase any overly notable doorbusters last year.
When will the Guitar Center Black Friday ad be released?
As usual with these things, it’s hard to say exactly. Last year, the Guitar Center Black Friday ad dropped mid-morning on November 10th, basically a few days after the big national chains and Amazon hit.
Guitar Center Free Shipping
Guitar Center offers free shipping on most items within purchases over $25. Although there are exclusions here including “special orders, oversized/overweight products, in-store used, vintage and clearance products.” It is also pretty good about its free ship-to-store policy as it tends to have enough stock at most of its locations, but it’s hard to say if that will be the case in November/December.
Will there be Guitar Center Doorbusters?
Guitar Center didn’t advertise any specific doorbuster deals in last year’s ad. However, there were reports of certain locations having special beginner guitar bundles and the like available. As far as last year was concerned, most of its highlight deals were available on online right on Thanksgiving morning, matched on Amazon and Sweetwater, and died before the day was through. So it might be more important here to keep on eye on the online deals, especially if your eyeing the more technology focused products (keyboards, controllers, iOS interfaces, etc.).
Will Guitar Center price match on Black Friday?
Guitar Center states that it “prices matches all authorized U.S. dealers within 45 days” of the purchase. While it’s hard to say if that aggressive policy will apply on Black Friday, most the popular deals in 2017 were already the same or better than its closest competitors on Thanksgiving morning. But we will have a better picture of that once we get a look at the Guitar Center Black Friday 2018 ad.
What will be on sale at Guitar Center Black Friday?
Well, it’s Guitar Center, so everything from guitars, drums and amplifiers to audio interfaces for Mac/iOS, monitors, headphones and all the accessories you could ever need.
When it comes to actual guitars and instruments, unless you’re buying them for show to hang on the wall, it can be difficult to make on online purchase on Black Friday. We highly-recommend actually sitting down with an instrument in-store before even considering buying it, which can put a bit of a wrench in your Black Friday shopping plans. Our recommendation there is to go try them out and get a solid idea of what you like in case it sees a huge price drop come Thanksgiving week.
On the other hand, if it’s the recording/production/technology-focused gear you’re after, Guitar Center’s online deals are something to watch out for. Last year, it was matching Amazon and others on some of the highly-sought after Akai MIDI controllers including the MPK Mini MKII and more. Guitar Center Black Friday 2017 also boasted some of the best deals on the popular IK Multimedia iOS/Mac recording interfaces as well the CME Xkey Air Wireless Bluetooth iOS Keyboard Controller and more.
But one thing to watch out for is sitewide offers during Black Friday (or anytime really). Last year Guitar Center offered $50 off purchases of $200 or more across Black Friday weekend. However, due to its usual epic list of exclusions, it is almost always a complete waste of time.
