For LEGO shoppers, the holiday season began last Friday when we got a glimpse at the 2018 toy book. In fact, Black Friday is just over a month away. To make sure you’re ready for everything the biggest shopping event of the year has to offer, you’ll want to head below to prepare for LEGO Black Friday.
When does LEGO Black Friday begin?
November 23rd is when the festivities will kick-off. LEGO’s online storefront will start offering deals at 12:01AM. Its in-store locations will be closed on Thanksgiving, with flagship locations opening at 6 AM on Black Friday according to years past. Other stores’ opening times vary by location.
LEGO is also likely to kick off special promotions at the beginning of November to ease shoppers into the full blown sale. They’ve done in past years and right now they have an offer going to entice you to get started on your holiday shopping now.
LEGO free shipping requirements
Orders over $35 will be eligible for free shipping.
How to lock in LEGO’s discounts?
Many of LEGO’s offers will be available for anyone to take advantage of. In past years there have been several notable discounts that have been exclusive to LEGO VIP members. So ahead of the shopping event, you’ll definitely want to sign up for a free account with this program. It will earn you access to exclusive deals, promotions and more.
LEGO also incentivizes in-store shoppers with various discounts that you won’t find online. In 2017 there were quite a few kits that received even deeper discounts in-store. So those wanting to maximize their savings will want to head over to their closest location.
Will there be LEGO Black Friday Doorbusters?
No. LEGO has historically avoided doorbusters, which means it is unlikely that we’ll see the company introduce them for Black Friday 2018.
What deals can we expect from LEGO?
LEGO will be offering a wide range of discounts across just about all of its lineups of kits. Not every set will be on sale, but there will be ways to save on everything from Star Wars and Marvel models to Technic, City and more.
Other notable promotions include freebies with select orders. Last year we saw a free Nutcracker build on orders over $75, while purchases exceeding $100 would receive a free LEGO tote bag. This year’s promotional items have yet to be announced, but odds are we’ll see another holiday-themed build.
It is also likely we will see the return of a double VIP points promotion. LEGO offers its members points on all of their purchases which add up to store credit. Normally for every $100 you spend you’ll earn $5, but with the double points offer back that will drop to only having to spend $50. This is a great way to save even more with your shopping and put a few extra gifts under the tree.
There is also sure to be a few new exclusive set releases. Last holiday season we saw the re-release of the Taj Mahal set, as well as the Joker Manor. So far for this Black Friday, we already know LEGO will also be bringing back a previously retired set, the Vestas Wind Turbine.
Will LEGO price match other retailers?
No. LEGO normally doesn’t offer price matching.
