Amazon’s New World MMO RPG has been in development for a while now. But a new leak is giving us our first look at what is to come. While Amazon’s gaming endeavor has been a little bit underwhelming thus far, the early footage looks fairly promising.
The video is apparently from a beta version of Amazon’s New World MMO RPG and features loads of footage on what to expect from this one. The gameplay initially made its way on to some adult fun sites before being edited into a more work-friendly format on YouTube (seen below).
What is New World?
Ok let’s’ dive in here. Amazon’s New World is basically a giant open-world game. It takes place in an alternate version of colonial America where players will take on the role of 17th century settler coming to the new world. The game world looks to be filled with monsters, wildlife, magic and more. It is essentially a typical open-world role-playing game with survival elements.
We catch a good look as the basics of gameplay in the leaked footage including everything from crafting and combat to hunting and gathering for resources. In other words, you’ll be hunting wildlife for survival, but don’t be surprised to find some mythical creatures and a zombie or two (known as The Withered) jump out of the woods to ruin your day.

Persistent Sandbox MMORPG Elements
We don’t get a good look at structure building or much in the way of PvP systems. But Amazon’s New World MMO RPG is apparently supposed to be a persistent world. The player run sandbox will allow you to create structures or settlements of some kind that remain as part of the game world to some degree. That is until someone comes along and destroys them while you’re out hunting.
We also catch a nice look of the game world in Amazon’s New World MMO RPG from the leaked visuals. The whole thing has a sort of Skyrim look to it, but we did a get a look at the game map, which includes loads of typical biomes from grasslands and forests to highlands and more.
While the whole game seems little bit underwhelming, it has certainly beat my expectations here. It’s hard to not think of these kinds of games as marketing tools for other services, but Amazon’s New World MMO RPG actually looks like it could be a promising sandbox survival experience.
