Must-read books for the fall before they become motion pictures

One of the first books you should pick up is Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. After her mom, Bernadette, disappears, Bee who is just 15-year-old goes through all of her mother’s emails, documents, and secrets in an attempt to find her. This book is set to be released in theaters on October 19th. With over 5,400 reviews on Amazon this book is rated 4.2/5 stars. Susan Coll from the Washington Post said, “Warm, dark, sad, funny-and a little bit screwball…. This is an inventive and very funny novel that gets bonus points for transcending form.”

Releasing November 9th of this year as a motion picture, The Girl in the Spider’s Web carries on the Stieg Larsson trilogy into a fourth book by David Lagercrantz. The first three books were all huge hits including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest.

With nearly 10,000 reviews, this book is rated 4/5 stars on Amazon. One night, the main character receives a call from a source who claims to have been given information vital to the United States by a young female hacker. She, as usual, has plans of her own as they work together with a ruthless underworld of spies, cybercriminals, and government operatives. This thriller will have you on the edge of your seat just like the first three in the series.

Another book that will be coming out in October as a movie is First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by James R. Hansen. This book will take you back in time to 1969, when Neil Armstrong, walked on the moon. Ryan Gosling is set to play Neil Armstrong, with Claire Foy as his wife. This New York Best Selling book is sure to be a tremendous movie to catch this fall.

If you’re a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal, the new The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt will be a must-see. This is also a New York Times Best Seller and the film is coming out in September. This book is about two brothers named Eli and Charlie that are on a mission to kill a thieving gold prospector. On the road from Oregon City to Warm’s gold-mining claim outside Sacramento, Eli begins to question what he does for a living-and who he does it for.
