It looks like two of the biggest things in gaming are about to come together if recent leaks hold any weight. Nintendo Switch has already absolutely destroyed sales numbers when comparing to both the Wii U and the Wii, not to mention Xbox One and PS4. Meanwhile, Fortnite has slowly taken the reigns in the battle royale space, seemingly leaving the originator, PUBG, in the dust. Well, now it looks Fortnite developer Epic Games may actually be bringing the most popular game out there to the most popular console.
Firstly, fans of Fortnite have been clamoring for a Switch port, considering the game plays just about everywhere else at this point, it would only make sense. Epic has already crossed $50M in revenue with Fortnite, dished out loads of updates for the iOS version and now it’s about time it came to Nintendo’s latest hybrid machine.
Nothing has been made official from Nintendo or Epic Games at this point, this is all (mostly) coming from a pair of leaks. The first of which is reportedly an image coming from Nintendo’s E3 booth setup with Fortnite being on the docket. Obviously this could easily be a fake and it did originally show up on the 4chan video game board, which can be hit or miss at best when it comes to leaks. You also might notice there are a few other un announced Switch titles there including a Dragon Ball Fighter and Killer Queen Black, among others. However the recent Pokemon leaks were spot on.

But an even more telling piece of information is the ratings board listing. Kotaku recently reported on a few titles receiving new listings on the Korean ratings board. One of which was Fortnite for the Switch and it is still live on the site. As some have mentioned, this kind of thing is a little more telling than some easily faked cardboard image.
At this point there has been no official word, but here’s to hoping we hear more about Fortnite for Switch come E3 2018. Nintendo is set for another one of its digital showcases on Tuesday, June 12th at 12 p.m. ET.
