Star Wars fans are some of the most committed and loyal collectors in the galaxy. They’ll spend over $100,000 on a Lightsaber prop straight from the films, purchase the largest and most expensive LEGO set to date, among other things. Now Hasbro is getting in on the insane collectibles with its largest recreation. The massive 4-foot-long, highly detailed model of Jabba’s Sail Barge packs all the details needed to cruise across the Dune Sea in style.

The latest in Hasbro’s line of must-have toys from a galaxy far, far away comes from its newest venture deemed HasLab. The extension of Hasbro has helped introduce new products based on results and other feedback garnered from fan polls similarly to LEGO Ideas. And now it has allowed Hasbro to create one of the most massive Star Wars collectibles to date.

Jabba’s Sail Barge measures up to over 4-feet long and is built to coincide with Hasbro’s iconic lineup 3.75-inch figures. It’s based on extremely extensive research from the original prop that hit silver screens all over the world back in 1983. So in order to bring an accurate version of the ship out of Return of the Jedi and into fans’ collections, the model’s designers brought over as many details as possible.

The elaborate and meticulously-crafted sculpture currently features everything from removable side panels, the deck cannon and fabric sails to Jabba’s lounge and the formidable Hutt gangster himself. A layer of photo-real paint rounds out the Sail Barge to really bring the scale-replica to life.

Because most of the Sail Barge wasn’t depicted in its debut back in the early 80’s, the designers were able to get creative and fill the remaining space with additional details. So while you might not have gotten a glimpse at the cockpit, or the barge’s driving and steering mechanism in the film, the 3.75-inch scale model packs it in tow. As of now the Sail Barge is only in its prototype stage, which is sure to change soon enough.

Hasbro’s latest isn’t a sure-thing right now, as its waiting for pre-production orders to be filled come April 3rd. The scale version of Jabba’s Sail Barge needs to lock in 5,000 pre-orders at its $500 price point to be put into production, but given the Star Wars fan base, I don’t think it’ll be a stretch to say that 5,000 is a pretty conservative estimate.

Visit HasLab for more details on the Sail Barge or if you’re looking to add the massive ship to your collection.
