When it comes to protecting our devices, a case is generally seen as the easiest way to do so. What brand, however, is always a hard decision. I’ve used Urban Armor Gear cases for years, and even have one on my iPad Pro right now. Putting a Urban Armor Gear case on my iPhone X was a no brainer, but they offer several styles, so which should you choose?

Let’s start with the Plasma Series. I opted for the red Plasma iPhone X case from UAG. This is a semi-transparent case that features great protection with minimal bulk. This case is a great option if you still want to see some of the back on your beautiful iPhone X, but still have great protection all the way around.

The Plasma series of cases supports both Apple Pay and Qi wireless charging. This is one of my favorite looks, personally, as depending on the color of your iPhone and Plasma case you choose, the contrast can be absolutely beautiful. I have a Dragonskin wrap on my iPhone, so the black blends in quite with the red here, but if you were to have a black phone and clear case, or white phone and gray case, the differences would be beautiful. UAG backs this case with a 1-year warranty.

The Trooper Series is the next case we’ll take a look at here. This case features a hidden compartment on the rear that you can store up to 4 cards in. Be that credit cards or your license, this gives you the ability to leave your wallet at home and only bring your phone along. Because of this feature, you’ll lose the ability to see the back of your phone, and also the sleekness of the above Plasma series case. But, if you’d rather carry a phone only than a phone and wallet, this is the case for you.

Sadly, if you were hoping to charge your phone wirelessly with the Trooper case, that’s something you’ll not be able to do. Due to the thickness, charging wirelessly is not possible. UAG states that Apple Pay is still possible, and I fully believe it is, but we were not able to test that independently. You’ll have to take UAG’s word there. You’ll receive a 1-year warranty on this case from UAG.

Metropolis, seen below, is a case that you’ll either love or hate, honestly. I initially thought I would love the idea of having a flip cover on my phone to protect the screen, but quickly grew tired of it. Photos are a pain with this cover, but that’s not unique to UAG here, as any case with a flap like this will cause that. If these style cases are your favorite, though, you’ll love it.

Working with both Apple Pay and Qi wireless charging, this case features storage for a few credit cards internally so you can leave the house without your wallet. Thanks to its 1-year warranty, as well, you know that you’ll be covered if the flap mechanism or anything else wears out.

The Monarch series is another great option if you want more protection and amazing designs. No see-through back on this series, but it’s a fantastic design and look. I opted for the carbon fiber version of this case and couldn’t be happier. I’m a huge car guy and carbon fiber plays a big part in high-performance cars, so having that look also on my phone was great and I loved it.

Monarch cases are fully compatible with Qi wireless charging as well as Apple Pay. The buttons on this series of cases are fantastic, and you’ll get an insane 10-year warranty from UAG on Monarch.

The Plasma Series can be purchased for $30 on Amazon, while the Trooper runs $35 just like the Metropolis. The Monarch case is a little more expensive at $55, but features the premiums stylings and longer 10-year warranty. UAG cases can be purchased from most major retailers like Best Buy, too.
